Kundalini Yoga in Rishikesh – Sanskar Yogashala

Kundalini is a Sanskrit word, & its meaning is "coiled snake." It is also known as shakti (feminine energy). In Hindu philosophy, it is said that a woman is born from the base of a man's spine. If we look at the science behind Kundalini, which is also called the feminine or Shakti form of energy, this old Hindu saying makes sense. How? Let's dig a little deeper into our understanding of Kundalini. Kundalini is located at the base of the spine in the mooladhara chakra. Chakra is also a Sanskrit word, which translates into "a spinning wheel." According to yogic science, chakras are the energy centres of the subtle body. We have 7 energy centres, or chakras, in our body. Each of these energy centres has very distinct characteristics of its own. It is these different energy centres that together make up the energy body or subtle body. To understand Kundalini & Kundalini yoga, let's first understand the chakras of the body.
