The Doraemon character was created by the Japanese manga artist duo, Fujiko F. Fujio, which consisted of Fujiko Fujio A and Fujiko Fujio F. The series first appeared in the pages of the children's magazine Shogakukan in December 1969 and quickly became a sensation in Japan. The manga follows the story of a young boy named Nobita Nobi, who is struggling with life in his small town. One day, a robot cat named Doraemon appears from the future and offers to help him with his problems.
